We purchased a vacant block of land on the edge of Yerrabi Pond providing us with absolute water “frontage” and views.  We then set about reviewing numerous plans of residences with similar water or panoramic views.  We also spent some time cruising the rivers and canals on the Gold Coast Qld looking at residences backing onto to the water.

Having decided on an overall design concept Guy Mahony was asked to put it all together into a design that capitalised on the view and the northerly aspect of the block.  Guy also had to meet our requirements for an open plan residence with adequate garaging and storage facilities.

The planning process took several months to complete including many consultations and plan revisions.  The end result was an award winning residence that completely met our requirements incorporating 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, lounge/dining and family room into an open plan design with nearly all rooms having clear and uninterrupted water views.  The northerly aspect of the design takes complete advantage of the winter sun keeping our heating costs to a minimum.
